Putting baby to the test

Daddy and I were determined to be in Texas for our niece and nephew's 1st birthday. We were concerned about flying due to causing potential problems with Gabriel's ears. He was less than 4 months old at the time, so we decided to take a road trip instead! I will go ahead and state this again for those who glazed over the previous sentence, we decided to take a 7 state road trip with a 4 month old! Although we had a great time as a family, it wasn't the best idea Daddy and I have had. Most of all we felt bad for Gabriel. He was an absolute angel considering the position we put him in. We took 4 days to get to Texas, (stayed in Atlanta an extra day to visit the AMAZING Georgia Aquarium), and 3 days to get back home. We had to stop at least every 2 hours to feed and change the little man. More frequent stops were sometimes required when he decided he had absolutely enough of his car seat. Gabriel is a very active and inquisitive baby, so being strapped in a car seat all day long for days at a time, isn't exactly his cup of tea (or breast milk in his case)! Because we would often have to stop off at exits without a gas station or a place of business, we would be sitting in the car, at night, in an unfamiliar place. We had a police officer come up to our parked truck asking us what we were doing because they had been having a slew of robberies in the area recently. As you can imagine, this only heightened my already ridiculous level of paranoia. I looked over my shoulders so many times during that feeding, I gave myself a headache! We nursed him at multiple gas stations, fast food parking lots, a church parking lot in Atlanta (figured that would be the safest bet considering we were in an unfamiliar part of Atlanta), a Walmart parking lot, and managed to only make it to one Rest Area on the way home. Here are some pictures from our road trip to Texas. While we were in Atlanta, we also stopped at Centennial Park. This park was developed and built for the Atlanta Olympics and even hosted some of the metal ceremonies!
